Interior Design

A Mix Of Traditional And Contemporary Private Residence

Project Summary

Our client requires the residential conversion of the building outside of the main house, transforming the current garage into a guest house, a gym, and a private office space where the client will work remotely.

Our goal is to connect the outbuilding with the main house through a glass roof and improve the interior design with a contemporary and modern style.

  • Location: 80 Pensby Rd, Heswall, Wirral
  • Sector: Residential
  • Construction Costs: £100,000
  • Size: 167 sqm
  • Status: On Construction
  • Architect: Windsorpatania architects

Current Situation

The property is currently used as a Family House. It is surrounded by a rear, front garden, and a garage.

The outbuilding is currently used as a gym, small garage, and storage for the main house.

Our client requested us to preserve and respect the old structure and the character of the property by adding some modern elements to the design.

Contemporary Private Residence

The current proposal seeks to connect the 2 existing buildings by using a sunroof covered with glass and redesigning the existing outbuilding.

Our client asked us to incorporate a mini apartment on the outbuilding as a guest house to be used by family members coming to visit.

Seeks to turn the existing side extension into a proper living space.

The intervention will not affect the outlook and street scene as the actual heights will be maintained.

The proposed materials will match the main building and the properties nearby.

All the side extension windows will face the property’s garden so that the main facade will not be affected by new openings.

Contemporary Private Residence

Giovanni Patania, Architect Direct, said:

“Our proposal is a mix of a traditional and contemporary private residence. We designed a bright new building on the side of the main house, transforming the current garage into a guest house, gym, and private office space where the client will work remotely.

Our proposal is clean and design-wise to make sure our client will feel focused and, at the same time, relaxed when entering his new office.

Another important feature is the glass cover; we extended the living and dining room of the main house to create more space and connection through a glass roof with the future guest house”.
