This family home was redesigned and modernised into a private residence with a contemporary interior design. It’s essential to preserve the historic part of this building and add a modern and elegant touch.


The house is located near the famous Mill Road and can be accessed from Perne Road. The rear façade of the private residence faces the existing garden, offering a high-quality space with biophilic views.

The property is a 3-bedroom double reception semi-detached family house. It consists of the kitchen with extension, 2 receptions, and a living room on the ground floor, and 3 bedrooms on the first floor.

The project aims to maximize the benefits of the space whilst enlarging the space to fulfill the family’s needs.

Interior Design of a Private Residence

A new open-plan space with living and dining areas will be created in a brand-new rear extension.

The interior is made in a neutral and natural-shaded palette to achieve a calming atmosphere.
The use of natural materials will improve the day-to-day life experience of the client. Well-thought and functional organization of the space will allow enjoying daily routine and way of life.

A side extension will also give more space toward the side to design a multifunctional space for the family’s needs.

Enlarging the roof with a hip to a gable loft conversion will give the space for another bedroom with an en-suite in the roof area.


The new scheme maintains its front driveway area where there is space for one car to be parked. However, there is a possibility of parking one more car since the client was keen to pave the whole front garden.

Bike access to the property may be needed, in which case a side gate may be helpful to avoid moving bikes through the house.

Currently, they are stored next to the garage.

The property may benefit from allocated bike parking space behind the gate, which can only be accessed by a security code system.
